how about instead of “all body types are beautiful” we say “beauty is extremely subjective and fleeting and doesn’t determine your worth and you don’t owe attractiveness to anyone so why don’t you focus on something important like being a worthwhile human being”
My big epiphany when I was a teenager was finding out that men had sex with cars, because after that I was free from ever having to take the notion of beauty standards seriously. Like, a boy told me ‘no man’s ever going to want you if you keep cutting your hair so short’ and I told him ‘there are men out there that have sex with their cars, and I like having short hair’. Beauty is so incredibly subjective, it’s best to just make yourself into what you want to be rather than listening to anyone who may or may not wish you had tires on.
Every time you look in the mirror and feel insecure, remember that there are basically a ridiculous amount of guys who have sex with cars.
“there are men that have sex with cars” is my motto when people ask me why I don’t shave my legs anymore. I love it.
this is so good I have no words
